Right vs Wrong
Books for Kids
"He gives wisdom to whom He wills, and whoever has been given wisdom has certainly been given much good" (2:269).
Judgement is the ability to make considered decisions or come to sensible conclusion, within the guidelines given to us by Allah (SWT) in the Qur'an and Sunnah. In this book, we hope to convey the importance of critical thinking and reflection in making purposeful decisions, made with the remembrance of Allah(SWT).
The first lesson we teach is that we must develop good judgement because Allah (SWT) has given us the tools to gain it, and will hold us accountable for how we used this faculty. Good judgement is developed through practicing decision-making, which involves weighing the pros and cons. In our first story, "To Jump or Not To Jump," Amin, Asad, and their friends must decide what the best solution is when Amin's ball lands in the neighbor's yard.
Even though we highlight the importance of sound judgement and decision-making in the book, we hope to also teach that, at the end of the day, we are limited in our judgement and that true judgement is with Allah (SWT). In the second story "Miss Judgement,' Shireen finds herself in a dilemma when she mistakes Amira for a thief.
